Our Mutual Friend

누군가 내 휴대폰으로 전화를 걸었을 때 듣게 되는 음악. 
Divine Comedy의 [Absent Friends] 앨범, “Our Mutual Friend”.
5년 째 이 노래만 컬러링으로 계속 사용하고 있다.

다른 곡과는 달리 guitar 사운드도 없이 오직 관현악 연주만 쓰였다.
영원히 끝나지 않을 것 같은 오케스트레이션…

No longer then is he our mutual friend.

디바인 코미디 “덕후” 사이트에 따르면 “나”와 그녀가 함께 부르던 곡은 Sc0tt Walker가 노래하는 “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore”이라고. 스캇 워커는 잘 모르는 어르신인데 목소리를 들어보니 David Sylvian이 생각나네. 그러고보니 Neil Hannon 음성하고도 비슷하다. 스캇 워커나 닐 해넌이 데이빗 실비앙보다 훨씬 발랄(?)하지만…

[Absent Friends]는 국내 라이센스반으로 가지고 있는데, 최세희씨의 앨범 소개글이 아주 찰지다. 진정 디바인 코미디를 좋아하는 이의 일필휘지. 최세희씨… “loser”님도 Radiohead 보러 지산에 오시겠지용;
